“Portugal 2030” is the strategic plan of development for Portugal during the period 2020-2030. The strategy includes measures to promote digital transformation, improve public services, boost economic growth, reduce poverty and promote social cohesion, health, education and climate action. It also focuses on improving the environment, by creating more sustainable cities with better air quality and reducing the country's carbon footprint.
Other investment plans include the improvement of infrastructures, expansion of the access to broadband internet and investment in research and development, there being also investment in supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses, as well as focusing on creating more jobs and attracting foreign investment.
The enactment of this regulation has enabled the first tenders of Portugal 2030 to be made available.
To this extent, it is absolutely essential that companies prepare themselves for this new European funding framework, seeking to establish contacts with the entities with which they typically collaborate, but also to create networks that can answer the challenges that are imposed, both in digitalisation, as well as sustainability and energy efficiency, thus allowing the creation of the conditions for the definition of highly innovative and differentiative projects in the sector of operation.
The “Portugal 2030” Incentives Programme will fall mainly on the following areas:
• Technological Innovation (manufacturing of machinery and equipment, manufacturing industry)
• Tourism
• Internationalisation
• Research and Development
• Agriculture
